Nickson sends Curtorim into finals

A brace by Nickson Castana helped Curtorim Gymkhana notch a comprehensive 3-0 win over Young Strikers, Benaulim to seal their berth in the finals of Curtorim Villagers Cup inter-village football tournament, organised by Curtorim Gymkhana, at Curtorim ground, on Friday. Curtorim led 1-0 at half time.
Playing on home soil, Curtorim enjoyed a lion share of exchanges and went into the lead in the 12th minute when striker Roy Albuquerque slotted past, thanks to the Benaulim keeper’s lapses.
Nickson Castana doubled the lead in the 25th minute as he unleashed a 25-yard booming shot.
With two goals ahead, Nickson completed his brace through a spot kick rewarded after he was brought down by the rival keeper. Nickson made no mistake in sending the rival keeper in the wrong way.
