DEUSSUA-CHINCHINIM: Our Lady of Perpetual Convent HS, Navelim shot-out Our Lady of Rosary HS, Fatorda 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the St JosephVaz soccer cup, organised by Mount Mary’s Educational Complex, Chinchinim, at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim, on Tuesday.
Perpetual opened the score-line through Joshua Colaco’s placement shot in the third minute but the joy was short-lived as Micheal Dias equalised for Fatorda in the sixth minute.
Thereafter, Aden Dias scored the second for Perpetual in the 45th minute but Gaurav Bandari levelled terms for Fatorda in the 49th minute.
In the tie-breaker, Vicky Pires, Rolan Pereira, Joshva Colaco and Aden Dias converted for Perpetual Convent HS, Navelim while Gaurav Bandari, Rahul Sharma, Michael Dias scored for Our Lady of Rosary HS, Fatorda.
In another match, Our Lady of Carmel HS, Curtorim pipped Infant Jesus HS, Colva 1-0 to move into the quarter-finals.
Steven Fernandes netted the match-winner in the 45th minute.
