Oratory advance

MARGAO, JULY 29 Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda booked a quarter-final berth in 25th Fraxier inter-village football tournament scoring a convincing 3-0 win over Raitura Sports Club at St John Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim on Thursday. Don Bosco Oratory were leading 2-0 at half time.

Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda  booked a quarter-final berth in 25th Fraxier inter-village football tournament scoring a convincing 3-0 win over Raitura Sports Club at St John Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim on Thursday. Don Bosco Oratory were leading 2-0 at half time.
Oratory dominated the proceedings with their forwards and midfielders working in  tandem.They surged ahead in the 17th minute when former Salgoacar midfielder Francisco Andrade unleashed a left footed drive which beat Raitura goalkeeper  Cosme Olveira all ends up.
Despite being a man short, Raitura made concerted efforts to level the score but their forwards were in disarray after reaching the danger zone.
Oratory doubled the lead just five minutes before half time when striker Ashley Andrade  bulged the net off a well measured pass from Joel Camara.
Crossing over, Raitura nearly reduce the margin but  Felix D’Mello muffed a sitter.
Oratory had many scoring opportunities but Raitura goalkeeper Cosme was in his elements as he thwarted sure goals from Cliff Baretto and Francis Andrade. However, they rounded off the tally when Cliff Baretto’s goal bound shot deflected from a rival defender and eluded Raitura goalkeeper Cosme.
