Panchawadi United raised their visions of breaking down YBT and dominated the proceedings for the first 20 minutes. In fact, they came close to scoring through Paxton Gomes but the latter shot wide.
However, YBT regrouped quickly but strikers Jovisco Fernandes and Savio Fernandes missed gilt edged chances.
Panchawadi’s breakthrough came in the 42nd minute when Paxton Gomes beat the rival goalkeeper Pawanraj Joshi with a clinical finish.
The second half saw the teams on even keel. YBT nearly found the equalizer but Grayfern Fernandes blasted wide from close range after Rosario Noronha put him on the platter. Soon, Savio ballooned over from hand-shaking distance and Jovisco Fernandes followed the same fate.
At the other end, Panchawadi doubled the lead in the 87th minute when substitute Raju Natekar slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot through a solo run.
Ashwin Godinho sealed the rival fate in the injury time when he punted the ball to the far corner of the net off a Raju Natekar pass.
Panchwadi United Sports Club finished their engagement with six points from three matches.
At DYSA ground, Curtorim, striker Latesh Mandrekar dazzled with a hat-trick to power Sesa Football Academy to a 4-1 win over Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club, Paroda . The winners led 3-0 at half time.
Sesa Football Academy totally dominated the match with their attacking style of play with excellent wing to wing passing. Latesh opened the scoring in the eighth minute when he bulge the net.
Spurred by the early success, Sesa intensified their attacks and increased their tally in the next minute when Aaron D’Silva beat the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish.
Latesh put the issue beyond doubt when he punished the rival goalkeeper with a nice placement.
Sesa continued to enjoy the better share of exchanges with their forwards swarming all over the rival territory and in the 53rd minute Latesh completed his hat-trick.
A minute later, Servino Fernandes scored the consolation goal for Fr Agnel.
