Craig Menezes took full advantage of a misunderstanding between Parra defender Vinod Gadekar and the keeper to score in the very first minute.
Thereon, it was Parra who dominated the entire first session only to see Atish, Edwin and Lesten fail to score from hand-shaking distance to the dismay of their supporters.
On resumption, Parra took the field with more focus and managed to level terms in the 48th minute with Charles Cardoz, scoring from the penalty spot after Saligao’s Videsh Satardekar viciously brought down Lesten Pereira inside the penalty area.
In the 57th minute, Parra further inflated their lead in similar style with Charles Cardozo once again scoring from the penalty spot after Ajit Diwadkar was found guilty by the referee for dangerously challenging Lesten.
Parra should have easily wrapped up the match in their favour, however, Saligao keeper Augustine D’Mello came to his sides rescue to brilliantly keep away Saish Palyekar and Edwin Viegas’s efforts at the goal.
In the final ten minutes, Saligao managed to come with the equalizer through Abhijit Bandekar, who superbly headed in a Bibiano Fernandes cross.
