PANJIM: Pax of Nagoa recorded a narrow 2-1 win over United Boys of Ambaulim in the Goa Football Association (GFA) U-16 League match played at Nagoa ground, on Thursday.
Pax of Nagoa were clearly the better side in the opening quarter of the game and found the net through Vasant Mansi. United Boys of Ambaulim found the equaliser in the 33rd minute through Sydney Fernandes. The scores were level at the break.
Crossing over, Milburn Moniz gave Pax of Nagoa the lead once again in the 49th minute which proved to be the match-winner.
At artificial turf ground, Fatorda, Ave Maria Athletic and Welfare Club beat Curtorim Gymkhana 3-1.
Ferino D’Costa scored a brace and Moammad Mansuari netted for the winning side. Maruti Bhagat managed to score for the Curtorim team.
Meanwhile, Jordan Borges’ 51st minute strike proved to be the only difference in the match at Don Bosco Oratory ground, as Salgaocar Football Club recorded a solitary goal win over Sirlim Sports Club.
