SALIGAO: Penha de Franca Sports Club got the better of eight men Milagres Sports Club by a 5-3 win via tie-breaker to move into the next round of the XI Reira Soccer Cup, at Saligao Sporting ground here on Saturday.
Despite taking on the field with only seven players, Milagres put up a brave performance. It was Lester Martin who put Milagres into the lead through a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area making it 1-0.
Penha de Franca managed to come with the equaliser in the 22nd minute of play through Raju Pudashar who seeing the keeper off his line lobbed the ball over, 1-1.
Changing ends, Lester once again gave Milagres the lead, scoring through a header. However Vishal managed to restore parity for Penha de Franca to end the regulation time tied at 2-2.
In the ensuing tie-breaker Penha de Franca proved to be better shooters.
