RAIA: Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim blanked Our Lady Mother of Poor High School, Tilamol 2-0 to move into the final of the 3rd edition of U-14 Fr Peter SVD Memorial football tournament, at SVD Seminary ground, Raia on Wednesday.
There were no scores in the first half as both the sides missed easy sitters. First Tilamol’s Tristan Fernandes shot wide with only the keeper at his mercy and at the other end, Navelim’s Nathan Pinto missed a sitter in the 15th minute.
In the second half Navelim’s Velroy opened the account with a placement shot in the 27th minute. Delmon doubled the lead for Navelim in the 33rd minute. Gerito Fernandes of Tilamol was declared the Man-of-the-Match. In another match, Our Lady of Health, Cuncolim defeated Loyola HS Margao 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the final. Our Lady of Health, Cuncolim will meet Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim on October 6 at 4.15 p.m.
