ANJUNA: Pilerne Sports Club scored a thumping 6-1 win over St Augustus Sporting, Pomburpa in the inaugural match of the Anjuna Gymkhana Cup, played at Anjuna Gymkhana ground, Anjuna on Thursday.
In a one-sided encounter, Pilerne scored four goals in a span of eight minutes through Sanket, Dwayne and Anson scoring a brace, closing in the tie quite early in the first half.
However, Pomburpa managed to score a goal through Charles Fernandes, who calmly placed the ball into the goal. Pomburpa had themselves to blame in the game as they missed plenty of chances throughout the game. In the second half, Dwayne completed his brace with a fine header before Russel sealed the game with a snap-shot, making it 6-1 in favour of Pilerne.
