PANJIM: Pope John XXIII High School, Quepem, (a Don Bosco Institute) bagged a massive haul of 31 gold, 27 silver and 13 bronze medals at Quepem Taluka Mini-Secondary Athletics Meet 2013-14, organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Curchorem recently.
Pope John XXIII High School won the highest number of events including the relays in all four age categories.
Rayson Rocha clinched gold in 800m, 1500m, triple jump and the 4x100m relay. Sigmund Rodrigues pocketed gold in 100m, 200m, 80m hurdles and 4x100m relay.
State record holders Joanna Carvalho won the gold in long jump while Aaron Rodrigues bagged gold in the high jump.
Other gold medal winners were: Allen Vaz (600m), Mosley Mascarenhas (long jump), Leifa Carvalho (100m), Prisma Oliveira (javelin throw), Cracy Fernandes (tripple jump), Alec D’Souza (pole vault), Rolson Rocha (long jump), Aliston Dias (100m hurdles) and Aloys Fernandes (hammer throw).
