NAGOA-VERNA: Povosao Boys blanked St Rock, Senaulim 2-0 to move into the semi-finals of the Nagoa Village Panchayat Cup organised by Pax of Nagoa SC, at Nagoa panchayat ground, on Monday.
Both the teams displayed good football but none could score in the first half.
After changing over, Povosao’s Noel dribbled past the St Rock defender and connected the ball to Jogan D’Silva who took control of the ball and fired a shot into the net in the 26th minute.
Later, St Rock’s Benny Fernandes missed a header from close range in the 30th minute.
Substitute Clive Fernandes scored in the injury time to put Povosao Boys in the semi-final.
Povosao Boys will now meet the winners of Bamborda and Poribhatt 1 on April 26.
