PANJIM: Pranshi Royals, Curchorem, defeated Tuvi Cricketers, Sancoale, in the final to emerge champions in the Rajesh Faldessai Chashak 2024 – All-Goa panchayat and municipality level floodlight heavyball cricket tournament organised by Cumbarjua Boys, at the Filomena D’Sa ground, Mala Wada, Cumbarjua, recently.
Batting first, Tuvi scored 55 runs in 5 overs, with Deepak top scoring with 25 runs.
Chasing the score, Pranshi scored 56 for 3 wickets in 3.4 overs. Vikas top scored with 26 runs.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Tuvi defeated Bhumika 11 (Canca), while Pranshi defeated Motee Brothers (Mayem).
Pushpashil was declared as the man-of-the-series. The best batsman award went to Sanjay and Chandresh was adjudged the best bowler. The winning team was awarded Rs 2.5 lakh, while the runners-up took home Rs 1.25 lakh, and the semi-finalists were awarded Rs 40,000 each. In all, 36 teams participated.
aGoa Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, Mayem MLA Premendra Shet, Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai and Cumbarjua Sarpanch Nandakumar Shet were present.
