Strikers Daniel Lobo and Cyrus Noronha worked hard and the duo were paid off with a hat-trick each. Jewel Fernandes, Marc Baretto, Glevito Miranda, Celvin Rodrigues and Lionel D’Souza were the other scorers. Progress HS will take on Government HSS, Sanquelim, in the final to be played on July 21.
In Bardez Taluka matches held at Tivim ground, here, St Thomas Higher Secondary School, Aldona and St Britto’s High School, Mapusa won their respective matches to progress to the next round.
In the first match, St Thomas grounded St Anthony’s High School, Monte de Guirim 2-0. Sairaj Halankar and Earl Sequeira scored a goal a piece in each session.
St Britto’s edged past St Anne High School, Tivim 3-2. Ronaldo Carvalho, Joston Cardozo and Marcivl had given the Mapusa school a three goal cushion in the first session but their opponents came back strongly in the second session and reduced the margin through Raj Parab and Rahul.
