PY Nuvem sail into semis

Parish Youth, Nuvem prevailed over Football Club of Siolim 5-4 via the tie-breaker after both teams were involved in a 1-all draw to move into the semi-finals of Vagator Parish Youth Trophy Inter-Village football tournament organised by Vagator Parish Youth at Ozrant ground, Vagator on Monday.
Siolim began on a promising note and took the lead in the 8th minute through Domnic D’Souza off a Melroy D’Souza pass. Down by a goal, Nuvem fought back and could have equalised in the 12th minute but Xavier Colaco shot wide off Neves Noronha. Neves Noronha made amends for the earlier miss by his colleague scoring in the 20th minute off a Jose Colaco move to bring his team on level terms.
Changing over, Siolim mounted pressure on Nuvem defense and could have forged ahead in the 45th minute through Vinay Pednekar header but Nuvem keeper Flyod Colaco came up with a brilliant save.
Nuvem did not lag behind and attacked the Siolim citadel time and again but failed to score.
Daniel Colaco almost scored the winner for Nuvem in the dying minutes but the ball hit the post and went out of play.
With scores even, the winners were decided on penalties. Parish Youth Nuvem got the better of Football Club of Siolim 4-3. Neves Noronha, Daniel Colaco, Xavier Colaco and Cristo Colaco converted for Parish Youth, Nuvem while Francis Fernandes, Melroy D’Souza and Sarvesh Shirodker were on target for Siolim.
