PANJIM: Piedade Youth Association (PYA) got a walkover to collect the three points easily as Merces Sports Club failed to report in the Goa Football Association’s Division III League Ilhas Zone match played at the Agassaim ground, on Tuesday.
In the earlier match, Piedade Youth Association thrashed Ronit Sports Club, Cacra, 7-0, to keep their winning momentum going to remain atop in the point’s table standings and to find themselves a place in the Division II League.
PYA’s star player Rohan Pednekar played well in the first half but could not score goals and was rested in the second half.
Soham Mardolkar, who was a constant threat to the rival defenders, stole the limelight for the PYA by scoring four goals.
Riyesh Diwadkar, Dugesh Naik and Pravin Naik also added their names to the scorer’s list scoring a goal each.
