PANJIM: Quepem Veterans topped the South Goa 2nd All Goa SAI Veterans Football League Tournament organised by Sports Authority of India (SAI) Veterans Football Association after defeating Chinchinim Veterans 2-0, on Sunday.
Quepem exploited the Chinchinim defence on the counter to score two quick goals in the first 15 minutes of the match.
First Agnelo Gomes scored off a Vincent Barbosa assist while Jerson Oliveira made it 2-0 when he was well fed by Raymond D’Souza’s through pass to make it 2-0.
Verna Veterans will now play Viva North Veterans in the first semi-final on June 30 while hosts SAI veterans will meet Quepem Veterans in the second semi- finals on July 7.
