Raia Sporting Club drubbed Goa Velha Sports Club 4-1 to cruise into the semi-finals of Curtorim Villagers Cup football tournament organized by Curtorim Gymkhana at Curtorim ground on Thursday. Raia were leading 1-0 at half time.
Raia dominated the proceedings and went into the lead in the 10th minute when Wellington Cruz bulged the net.
After the break, Raia were in total command and repeatedly raided the Goa Velha goal. They were rewarded when Wellington doubled the lead in the 37th minute. Stunned by two quick blows, Goa Velha went into the attacking mode and managed to reduce the margin through the boots of Francis Pires in the 37th minute.
Don Fernandes struck twice in the 45th and 62nd minute to seal the fate of Goa Velha.
