PANJIM: Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim edged past Mount Mary High School, Chinchinim 2-1 to emerge State champions in all-Goa inter-school under-13 football tournament, organized by DSYA, in Panjim, recently.
The teams started in the right ewarnest with dangerous moves.
However, they were locked goalless at half-time but some tough talking by coach Eugenio Rodrigues and PE Teacher Allan Gonsalves brought life into the Regina Mundi attack with Raven Pereira putting them ahead.
Gavin Nunes put the issue beyond doubt with the second goal for Regina Mundi but eventually, Mount Mary did come back into the goal by reducing the margin.
However, Regina Mundi lads held on to emerge champions.
Earlier, in the semi-final played, on Thursday, Regina Mundi beat Fr. Agnel High School, Pilar 1-0.
