VASCO: Regina Mundi High School and St Joseph Vaz HS Sancoale emerged winners of the Mormugao Taluka U-14 Subroto Mukherjee tournament, in the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively, played at Naval Children School ground, Chicalim, on Tuesday.
Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim defeated Deepvihar High School, Sada 2-0 in the final. There was no score in the first half as both the goals were scored in the second half. Regina Mundi HS dominated both the sessions.
Dilon Pereira and Jalson Vaz scored a goal each for the winners.
In the girls’ final, St Joseph Vaz defeated Our Lady Perpetual Socorro, Cortalim by a solitary goal.
Pallavi Raj’s only goal seperated the two teams.
Perputual tried their best to score the equaliser but they couldn’t get past the stubborn St Joseph Vaz defence.
