MAPUSA: Rest of Goa Veterans thumped Bardez Veterans 2-0 in an exhibition football match, at Calangute Association ground, Calangute, on Friday.
Rest of Goa under the leadership of Arjuna Awardee Brahmanand Sankhawalkar saw his team score a goal each in either session.
They took the lead through former Salgaocar SC defender and current Salgaocar FC head coach, Derrick Pereira, who gave finishing touches to a perfect cross from the left flank by Pasocal Pereira.
Another Arjuna Awardee, Bruno Coutinho, who led the Bardez team did try to work his magic with a couple of rasping long rangers, but Brahmanand was left untroubled.
Changing over, in the 49th minute Derrick secured his brace in style with a venomous 20-yarder.
Chief guest Braz Fernandes handed over the match prizes to Derrick and Bruno in the presence of Digambar Haldankar, Adv Francisco D’Souza and Filipe Dias.
