RAIA: Our Lady of Rosary High School, Navelim defeated Mae Dos Pobres High School, Nuvem 4-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 4th edition of Fr Peter SVD memorial football tournament played at SVD Seminary Ground, Damon-Raia, on Saturday.
Rosary School’s Saurab Kumar missed a chance to score in the third minute while Vikram Sen failed to convert for Mae Dos Pobres in the 6th minute.
It was Auyush Kalgudkar of Rosary School who opened the scoring with a placement shot in the 23rd minute but the joy was short-lived as Mallika Arjun equalised for Mae Dos Pobres in the 30th minute.
At the end of regulation time, both the teams settled for a 1-1 draw. In the resultant tie-breaker, Rosary School proved to be the better shooters.
