MAPUSA: Rossman Cruz, Verna played gallantly to register a hard fought 3-2 win over St Anthony’s SC, Marna to sail into the final of the Vagator Soccer (UK Cup), organised by Vagator PYSC, at Vagator Ozran ground, on Sunday.
Rossman Cruz struck in the 8th minute of the match when Jesloy Moniz sent a long cross to unmarked Savio Fernandes who tapped the ball past the Marna keeper to give his side the lead.
Two minutes later, Marna levelled terms when Vipul Pednekar placed the ball into the goal off a pass from Dalesh Pednekar.
As the match progressed, Rossman Cruz pumped in two goals in the 16th and 30th minute through Beneston Barreto.
On crossing over in the 46th minute, a cross by Siddharth Shirodkar saw Vipul Pednekar direct his header into the goal to make it 3-2.
Marna almost netted the equaliser in the 48th minute but the Rossman Cruz keeper Ashton Braganza came up with a brilliant save off a power-packed right footer from Sangam Pednekar.
