AMBELIM: Royal Builders defeated Euro Connexion 2-0 in the Sevens Women’s Football Festival organised by Goa Sevens and Ambelim Sports Club, at Ambelim Sports Complex, Ambelim, on Tuesday.
Dasiy Crasto and Clency Miranda scored a goal each in the first half to seal a win.
Both the teams playing the last game at the women’s festival began with just a win in mind.
Macrenna Dias’s shot from outside the box went inches away from target for the Euro side.
On the other hand, the Builders struck hard through Daisy Crasto and Tercy Peixto. The Royal side finally managed to take the lead through Diasy Crasto after receiving a short pass from Tercy as the former placed her shot straight into the bottom corner of the nets.
The Builders doubled their lead a few minutes later through Clency Miranda as they went into the break with a 2-0 advantage.
In the second half, Royal Builders looked to extend their lead but Michell Castanha failed to convert an easy attempt off an indirect free kick from inside the danger.
Euro Connexion had a chance of reducing the margin but Flani Costa failed to time her shot as Royal Builders walked away with an easy win.
