Sai Avtar qualify

CALANGUTE, MAY 9
Sai Avtar, Anjuna overcame St Christopher Sports Club, Tivim 4-2 via the tie-breaker in the Bardez Zone finals of Coca Cola Celebration Cup soccer tournament organised by Goa Football Association and qualified for the zonal semi-finals at Dr. Gustavo Monteiro stadium, Candolim on Sunday.
In an exciting final, the teams played well but missed a couple of scoring opportunities. In the ensuing tie-breaker, Leston Martins, Akshay Dabholkar, Uday Gadekar and Jesmine Carvalho were on target for Anjuna while Uttam Kambli and Abel Mathews found the mark for Tivim.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, Sai Avtar got the better of United Club 2-0. Leston Martins scored both the goals for Sai Avtar.
In the second semi-finals, St. Christopher Sports Club, Tivim had to sweat it out against Saligao United sponsored by Reira Eco Venture and Nazri 4-3. Vijeet Salgaonkar scored a hat-trick for St Christopher while Abel Mathew added his name into the scorers list. Clyde Vales, Rory Rodrigues and Arishtro Fernandes scored for Saligao United. Desmond Oliveira compered.
