MAPUSA: St Anthony’s High School, Monte de Guirim scored a fluent 2-0 win over St Britto’s HS, Mapusa in the U-17 Bardez Taluka Subroto Mukherjee Football tournament for Boys, played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Wednesday.
Both the goals came in the first session of play with Abraham Fernandes and Allister Carvalho doing the scoring.
In the second match Little Flower of Jesus HS Calangute squeezed past Sacred Heart HS Parra 1-0.
The only goal of the match came from the boots of Snehal Deuskar.
In the third match of the day, St Xavier’s Higher Secondary School Mapusa hammered St Threza Higher Secondary School Candolim 9-0.
Osrick Trinidade did most of the damage scoring four goals, Richard Cardozo two, Mylon two and Aloysius Lobo one goal for the winners.
In the last match of the day, St Francis Xavier Higher Secondary School Siolim outclassed St Ann HS Thivim 7-0.
Sattesh Kole and Sidhant Shirodkar scored a brace each while Vidit Simepurushkar, Anthony Lobo and P Ajay were the other goal scorers.
