CALANGUTE: Hosts Saipem Sports Club thrashed Camotim Vaddo 5-1 to storm into the final of Saipem SC Golden Jubilee Cup inter-ward football tournament, at the Gustavo Monteiro ground, Candolim, on Saturday.
In the fast paced match were Saipem SC proved no match for a strong Camotim team who were totally outplayed by the hosts.
They took the lead through a powerful kick from Paul Cardozo which was blocked by Camotim goalkeeper and on the return Karan Morajkar tapped the ball in the goal.
After a brilliant move by Bapu Pednekar and Jonathan Cardozo, the latter gave an excellent cross to Paul to make it 2-0 for Saipem SC while just before half time Karan from a pass of Santan Carvalho made it 3-0.
After the breather, Camotim went in the attack but could not succeed in the counter attack as Bapu Pednekar overpowered to shot the ball into the goal to make it 4-0 for the hosts.
Anthony scored for Camotim to make it 1-4 but Camotim could not contain the powerful attack of Saipem SC. Karan, Bapu and Jonathan again after a good moves netted through Karan making it 5-1.
Earlier, Sakhalin Boys, Arpora defeated Gaura Vaddo, Calangute via tie-breaker 4-3.
At full time also the score remained 0-0.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Siddesh, Narahari, Harish and Seniyo scored for Sakhalin Boys while Pritesh, Prasanth and Gabby converted for Gaura Vaddo.
