MARGAO: Salcete PE Teachers edged past Bardez PE Teachers 6-5 via the tie-breaker to enter the final of the All Goa PE Teachers Futsal tournament in memory of Braz Rodrigues, organised by South Goa PE Teachers Association, at DBO Fatorda ground, on Friday.
The match was tied 4-4 at the end of regulation time.
Mario Vales scored a brace while Shehan Fernandes and Ramesh scored a goal each for Salcete.
Atish Gaonkar netted a hat-trick while Seby D’Costa scored the other goal.
In the resultant tie-breaker Sunny Vaz proved to be the hero as he saved two crucial penalties to take Salcete into the final.
In the second semi-final, Tiswadi PE Teachers got the better of Sattari PE Teachers 7-1.
Oswin and Jose netted a brace each while Shailesh, Jowel and Jose scored a goal each. Ranjit Gosawi scored a consolation goal for Sattari.
Both the winners will lock horns in the final which will be held today.
