NAVELIM: Salgaocar Football Club Juniors hammered Canacona Sports Academy 11-0 in the U-14 GFA League South Zone semi-final, at Navelim ground, on Friday.
Kenneth with a brilliant double hat-trick, a brace from Meldon and goals from Anthus, Movin and Wyne ensured the Greens three points.
The first half kicked off to a flying start with the Green lads in high gear. The downfall for Canacona SA came under 15 minutes when the star of the day Kenneth dribble past two defenders from the right and smashed the ball in.
It wasn’t long before the score was doubled by Movin when he controlled a well-timed pass to finish. The next four goals came in quick succession from the man in form Kenneth as he completed a flawless hat-trick before the teams headed in for the lemon break. The score loomed a mighty 6-0 over Canacona SA.
The second half seemed to start off on a slow note as the Salgaocar lads maintained possession of the ball and were not creating any moves neither did they have any attempt at goal.
But this came to an end just before the hour mark when Meldon made the most of the pass sent graciously his way by Kenneth.
And Kenneth was back to scoring ways as well in the 60th minute. Around the same time Wayne was brought on and it didn’t take the young lad much time to add his name on the scoreboard.
The final goal of the day completed Meldon’s brace. With this, the misery for the Canacona side came to an end as Salgaocar emerged victorious 11-0 from the semi-finals.
