MAPUSA: Salgaocar Football Club maintained their unbeaten run as they drubbed Velsao SCC 3-0 in the Goa Profesional league, at Duler stadium, here, on Monday.
Salgaocar FA came into Monday’s match with six points where coach Levino Pereira brought four changes in his Starting XI while Velsao SCC in-charge Jude Barretto brought just two changes with a point from two matches.
First touch by substitute Stephen Satarkar materalised into a goal in the 39th minute.
Stephen netted his second (78th min) with Valentinho Nazareth completing the rout in the 87th minute.
In the 35th minute, Stephen Satarkar who had netted a hat-trick against Churchill Brothers came from the bench and saw him find the nets from his first touch off a low cross by Stephen Alvares to take the lead.
After twenty minutes of midfield tussle at the start of the second session, Green Brigade should have doubled their lead but Velsao keeper Presley blocked Selwyn Miranda’s shot from outside the 6-yard box and as the ball was rolling into the goal, defender Klusner Pereira came up with a timely clearance from the goal-line.
In the 78th minute, Stephen Satarkar netted his brace as he was at the right place at the right time to connect a square ball by substitute Valentinho Nazareth to make it 2-0.
Green Brigade netted their third goal in the 87th minute when substitute Valentinho Nazareth beat the offside trap and scored past the onrushing keeper Presley to make it 3-0.
