Salgaocar FC juniors excel, bulldoze USC Seraulim

Kenneth scores four goals; Quitula SC, Sporting Clube and FC Goa qualify for play-offs

MARGAO: Salgaocar FC juniors swelled their tally to 22 goals in just two games without conceding after scoring 10 past a hapless USC, Seraulim in a Round Two clash of the GFA U-14 league match, at the Seraulim ground, on Monday. The winners led 3-0 at the breather.
The star of the day was Kenneth Da Costa, who finished the evening with four goals.
Salgaocar surged ahead as corner from Rohit Naik resulted in a scramble in the box with Kenneth the quickest to react, toe-poking the ball home to make it 1-0.
The Greens doubled their lead as Frazer Edmag put Kenneth through. The latter used his strength to shake off two defenders and calmly slot home.
In the 31st minute it was 3-0 and yet again it was Kenneth. 
It was Salgaocar’s No 9, Kenneth who kicked-off the goal rush in the second half as he finished a fine through by substitute Amber Rodrigues in the 39th minute. The Greens then had to wait 10 minutes before scoring their fifth. Amber yet again in the thick of things as he found Antush in the box after a run down the left. Antush rounding the keeper and tapped the ball into an empty net.
Two minutes later it was six as Wayne Fernandes won the ball smartly around 30 yards out and played a through ball to Mouvin, who slotted home calmly.
It was then the turn of Wayne Fernandes to add his name to the score sheet after he finished a cross from Meldon Oliveira who had an outstanding second half with excellent runs down the left, taking on defenders at will. In the very next minute another cross by Meldon saw the ball headed out only as far as Melroy Borges around the 6-yard box who headed home powerfully.
With six minutes to go, The Greens scored their ninth goal as Frazer bulged the net with a screamer from just inside the box after Rohit on the left had found him with a long diagonal ball. With a minute to play, Mouvin scored his second of the evening after being put through by Amber Rodrigues.
At Quitutla ground, Quitula SC (GFDC) hammered Kelbai SC, Mayem 7-0 margin. Quitula have qualified for the play-off round.
They took the lead in the first minute as Larry Gomes set up Manohar Naik who finished off through an adroit placement.
In the seventh minute Harsh Patre doubled the lead for Quitula SC when his long range effort found no answer from the keeper while two minutes later Manohar scored his brace from close range.
Minutes before going into the breather, Yash Parwar came with two quick goals to give Quitula SC a comfortable 5-0 lead.
On changing ends, Quitula SC took off from where they had left and fired in twice through Sandeep Hembron and Rahul Choudari to take the score tally to 7-0. Kelbai were reduced to 6 players when play was stopped.
St Anthony’s SC, Marna scored a huge 6-1 win over FC Tuem, at Siolim ground.
Marna went into the lemon break with a 3-0 cushion with Dominic Fernandes, Lavnay Shiridkar and Mohit palyekar scoring at regular intervals.
On resumption of play Sunarsh Padloskar pulled one back for Tuem only to see Mohit Palyekar, Jonathan Pereira and Saideep Pomburphekar score one goal each to take the score to 6-1.
On Sunday, at Batim ground, The young Flaming Oranje continued their fine run as they grounded Goa Velha Sports Club 10-0.
With this win Sporting Clube have qualified for the North Goa play-off’s along with FC Goa.
The first goal came in the ninth minute through Eban Noronha.
Soon, Alger Da Costa managed to drill one in the far left corner to make it 2–0 in the 11th minute.
In the 20th minute, Anthony Fernandes unleashed his terror on the Goa Velha defenders, scoring three goals within seven minutes.
At the brink of half time, Eban Noronha came back to haunt the defenders as he produced another stunner to make it 6-0.
The second half was shared by Shanon Viegas and Anthony Fernandes as both shared a brace each to sum up the proceedings in style. 
In another match, at Batim ground, FC Goa got the better of Fr Agnel, Pilar 2-0. 
They finished their engagement in their group as top the team with 22 points from eight games.
FC Goa took the lead in the third minute as Rayan Menezes headed home a Chadel Fernandes corner kick.
In the eighth minute, Saheel Shaik brought up a wonderful save from a penalty kick which was awarded to Fr Agnel by the referee for handling the ball inside the penalty area.
In the second half, Asfin Pinto sent in a beautiful cross which was turned into their own-goal by a opponent defender.
