NAVELIM: Salgaocar FC thrashed Churchill Brothers 6-1 in the Hero India Sub-Junior Youth League organised by AIFF, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Saturday.

The first best move of the match came from Churchill striker Ismail Mohammed Shaikh but his move was foiled by defender Hayden C Fernandes.
A minute later, Rui Noronha shot from close range for Salgaocar but Churchill keeper Mansur Manki was equal to the task.
Rui sent in a long ball to midfielder Flan Crasto who slipped the ball to Ashnoy Prince Gomes who fired from the box to open the account for Salgaocar in the fourth minute. Eleven minutes later, Shanoy P Gomes’ shot made it 2-0 for Salgaocar.
In the 25th minute, Salgaocar’s Shanoy P Gomes fired from close range to make it 3-0.
Four minutes later, Salgaocar midfielder Flan Crasto also got his name on the scoresheet to make it 4-0. Salvador Gama made it 5-0 for Salgaocar in the 32nd minute.
Defender Hayden C Fernandes headed home to make it make it 6-0 for Salgaocar off a corner kick taken by Rui Noronha. Churchill’s Ismail Mohamad Shaik converted a penalty kick to pull a consolation goal.
Meanwhile at Ella ground, Dempo SC and Sporting Clube de Goa played out a 1-1. Dempo scored in the 13th minute Rabi crossed the ball from the right wing to Leethan Silveira who made no mistake to give the lead. Few minutes before the break, Sporting equalised from a set piece.
