VASCO: Salgaocar are looking to keep their winning momentum going as they clash against Rangdajied United FC tomorrow in the I-League match at Tilak Stadium, Vasco.
Salgaocar, who have kept unbeaten run intact in the last five matches, are second with 34 points from 20 matches and four points away from leaders Bengaluru FC.
Dudu Omagbemi has been the key man in Salgaocar’s victories. He, along with Darryl Duffy, has been lethal upfront and a frequent headache for opponents, and along with coach Pereira is looking upon them for success in Saturday’s match.
Salgaocar’s coach Derick Pereira is happy the way his team’s good showing in the second half of the season.
Our boys have worked hard during the winter break especially on the defence not to concede goals and this has helped the team to win matches.
“We need to remain more focussed and win our next four matches and see that top team loses couple of matches which will help us to win the title for the second time,” Pereira said.
“Rangdajied like us is a different side after their latest recruit Ranty Martins. The team has done well to move out of the relegation. We need to remain focussed till the end against them if we are to win tomorrow,” he said.
Rangdajied, lying at the bottom at the end of the first phase, did well in the second phase winning four matches to keep themselves away from the relegation as they are now placed ninth with 21 points from 20 matches.
Rangdajied coach Santosh Kashyap said the tie will be a touch one against a side which is really doing well at the moment.
“We are well prepared to take on the challenge against the home side and are expecting a close fight,” Santosh said.
