CHICALIM: Sanquelim RCC defeated Sanguem Cricketers by 8 wickets to move ahead in the U-16 Saurabh Sardesai memorial cricket tournament organised by Vasco Warriors Cricket Academy at SAG ground, Chicalim, on Saturday.
Batting first, Sanguem Cricketers scored just 71 runs in their inning which was later chased down easily by Sanquelim RCC in the 10th over with 8 wickets in hand.
Sanquelim’s Om Desai took 6 wickets in just 15 runs which helped his side restrict the oppoents to a small margin.
However, on the other hand, the Sanguem bowlers couldn’t do much as they failed to pile pressure early on in the innings as total was chased down with ease.
Score in brief: Sanguem Cricketers, 71 all out in 20.4 overs (Kaushal Rekdo 20, Srikar Naik 14 runs. Om Desai 6-15, Mayur Bandiwadekar 2-13, Ketan Pednekar 1-8) lost to Sanquelim RCC, 75 for 2 in 9.2 overs (Gaurang Pikalkar 33, Om Desai 20 runs. Bhagesh Rekdo 1-24, Sahil Verenkar 1-11).
