PANJIM: Team Boss, Reis Magos and Maratha Warriors, Pirna defeated Mayem Union and Porvorim Titan by 65 runs and by 5 wickets respectively and moved into second round of the 2nd All Goa panchayat level T20 cricket tournament organised by Betim United, played at Sports Authority gound, on Saturday.
In the first match, Team Boss won the toss and opted to bat. The team piled up 213 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted overs with decent batting performances from Ritesh Shirodkar (64), Gaurish Malankar (59) and Sandeep Tandel (32). Harish Chodankar claimed 3 wickets off 35 runs.
Mayem Union needing 214 runs for an outright win but managed to score only 148 for 3 in allotted overs.
Gaurish Malvankar was the awarded the Man-of-the-Match for his all round performance who scored 59 runs in 27 balls and claimed a wicket giving away only 3 runs.
In the second match of the day, Porvorim Titan batting first scored 114 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Maratha Warriors chased down the target with ease. Maratha Warriors’ Samir Parab was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match.
