GUIRDOLIM: Santosh Verenkar will clash with Shubham Dessai in the finals of the men’s category in the non ranking table tennis tournament,organised by Guirdolim Club, in collaboration with Goa Table Tennis Association and co-sponsored by Madanant Constructions Pvt Ltd, at Guidolim Club hall, on Sunday.
In the first semi-finals, Santosh Verenkar got the better of Surendra Dessai in a thrilling 5 set contest by winning 11-9, 8-11, 11-5 and 13-11, while Shubham Dessai defeated local favourite Roger Mosses in straight sets by 11-9, 11-4 and 11-8.
The finals are slated for the August 15 at 7 p.m. along with the boys U-14 and U-17 finals.
Naguesh Verenkar and Jayz Gomes will play an exhibition match prior to the final.
