MARGAO: Sao Jose de Areal secured an easy 8-2 win over Mormugao United in the Goa Football Association Second Division League match played at Dramapur ground, on Wednesday.
Alvito Moura brilliance helped Areal team to record the big after scoring four and he was supported by Melisho Camotio, who also scored his hat-trick.
The winners led 2-0 at the break as goals from Alvito Moura and Melisho Cametio gave them the first half advantage over their rivals.
In the second half, Areal went all out as they scored the third in the 46th minute through Alvito.
However, Mormugao finally opened their account with a quick response reducing the margin in the next minute through Stalen Lucas.
But Alvito wasn’t done for the day as he went on to score two more goals along with Melisho, who also scored two more goals in the second half with both completing their hat-trick. Vasudev was the other goal scorer for the winning team.
Bevan Fernandes managed to pull another goal back for the losing side. Mormugao’s Veincee Da Costa was cautioned while Akash Gawdi was sent off in the 90+ 2 with a straight red for rash play.
