PANJIM: Sporting Club of Davorlim had to wait until the penalty shoot-out to advance in the Goa Football Association Third Division League Salcete Zone Play Offs, as they edged past Santa Cruz Society of Poitomado 4-2, played at Ambelim ground, on Tuesday.
After a barren first half, both the teams got into action in the second half of the play and SCS Poitomado were the first to score at the hour mark through Raghvir Gaonkar but their joy was short-lived as Robinshon Colaco equalised for Davorlim in the 66th minute. Both the teams tried to find the match-winner but their sloppy finishing let them down.
In the tie-breaker, SC Davorlim scored trhough Robinson Colaco, Jovito Niasso and Venson Figueiredo while only Nevil Fernandes was on target for the losing side.
