OLD GOA: Sesa Football Academy outplayed Goa Velha Sports Club to score a 7-0 win in the Geno -GFA First Division League match played at Ella ground, Old Goa.
The win took SFA to the top of the standings with 19 points from eight matches, one point ahead of SCC Cavelossim who are now on 18 points. While Goa Velha SC remain on five points.
Sesa FA went all out from the word go which saw them up by three goals in the first 10 minutes.
Joston Pereira opened the account for SFA by scoring in the 3rd minute followed by league top scorer Olvin who scored a stunner from his left foot in the 6th minute of the game.
Stephen Colaco scored the third goal in the 10th minute to give SFA a dream start to the game.
Olvin scored his second in the 33rd minute after a pinpoint cross by Ashley from the right flank. SFA scored 4 goals in the first half, dominated the possession and left no chance for Goa Velha to score.
Goa Velha had no shots on target in the first 45 minutes. The second half started off with good energy from both the sides as Goa Velha worked for an almost impossible comeback from a 4-0 deficit at the break. Melvin scored in the 51st minute as a cross was converted by a powerful header into the right corner. Joston’s hunger for more goals continued and his positioning allowed him to score an easy tap after the keeper saved a long-range shot from Ashley.
Captain of SFA, Anil Chawan displayed individual skill and creativity in the box by running past two defenders and allowing Ben to score from close range. Joston was named man-of-the-match for his brilliant performance throughout the 90 minutes.
