Sesa Football Academy scored a narrow 1-0 victory in the Federation Cup qualifier at Tilak Maidan here on Tuesday.
Vasco had in the past put it across Sesa, not once but five times, but today it was not their day as the youthful lads from Sanquelim displayed entertaining football. There was no score at half time.
Sesa’s gem of a goal came in the second half through the boots of of Lezly Fernandes.
Vasco have to blame themselves for the defeat as they blundered at least on three occasions.
Joy Ferrao’s header missed the mark narrowly following a cross from Prajot Naik in the 38th minute. Ferrao once again missed scoring off a cross from Jerose Oliveira in the 57th minute.
Sesa had their share of play with attractive play and scored what ultimately turned out to be the match in the 73rd minute when Lezly Fernandes scored off a pass from substitute Don Bosco Andrew.
Just before the goal, Vasco missed an open chance as Jerose Oliveira misfired from the box.
