ITI, Sesa beat ITI, Mapusa 25-17, 25-15 and ITI, Panjim beat ITI, Satari 25-23, 25-21 to enter the North Zone inter-ITI volleyball finals on Monday.
Earlier, ITI, Bicholim lost to ITI, Mapusa 25-9, 25-19; ITI, satari beat ITI, Montfort 25-17, 25-21 and ITI, Panjim beat ITI, Pernem 25-10, 25-13.
Earlier, C P Tripathi, Secretary, Crafstmen Training who was the chief guest inaugurated the 9th all-Goa inter-ITI sports competitions at Peddem complex, Mapusa. Gurudatt Bhakta, GOA secretary was the guest of honour. Aleixo F Da Costa, Director, Crafstmen Training presided over the function. Marino, Principal, ITI, Mapusa proposed the vote of thanks.
In the football tournament, ITI, Panjim, beat ITI, Montfort 1-0.
South Goa (cricket): ITI, Cacora got the better of ITI, Farmagudi by a margin of two wickets with seven balls to spare. Rohan Kutkar did the star act for Cacora with an all-round display by first taking three wickets for 13 runs when Farmagudi batted and then when Cacora were struggling at 11-6, he struck a fine knock of 28 not out with three huge sixes, to take Cacora home. Yogesh fought a lonely battle for Farmagudi scrapping four wickets for five runs.
In the second match, ITI, Vasco beat Fr Agnel ITC, Verna by eight wickets in a one-sided match. Earlier, batting first, Verna were all out for 32 in the allotted 10 overs. Arun Torkar took six wickets for three runs including the first hat-trick.
Volleyball: ITI, Canacona overcame ITI, Farmagudi in three sets: 24-26, 25-15, 25-21 with Swapnil Pawaskar shining for the winners along with Rahul.
In the second match, ITI, Vasco trounced Don Bosco ITC, Fatorda in stright sets: 25-19, 25-21 with Pradeep and Rahul playing well for the Winners.
