PANJIM: Shahapuri Gymkhana of Kolhapur and Dempo Cricket Club registered wins in their respective matches of the all India T-20 leather ball cricket tournament, organised by Sanguem Cricketers and played at Sanguem Govt complex ground, Sanguem on Thursday.
In the first match, Shahupuri Gymkhana defeated Gadhhinglaj City & Taluka Cricket Association by 82 runs while Dempo CC beat Ajinkya Warriors of Sangli by 3 wickets.

Batting first, Shahupuri Gymkhana put up a massive total of 195 in 20 overs.
Shahupuri’s Aditya Khanvilkar (46), Aditya Khanvilkar (46) and Shreyash Patil (32) gave the bowlers a hard time.
Pravin Gawade was the pick of the bowlers picking up 3 wickets and maintained a decent economy rate despite the hefty total put up by the batsmen.
Gadhhinglaj CTCA played the full 20 overs but the target was too much of an ask as they were restricted to 113-7. Aditya Khanvilkar of Shahupuri Gymkhana bagged the man of the match award.
In the other game Ajinkya Warriors were bowled out for 101 in 16.2 overs due to a magnificent display of bowling from Samad Fallah (2-25), Sunny Patel (2-22) and Sherbahadur Yadav (2-14).
Dempo edged past the Ajinkya Warriors winning the game by 3 wickets despite the low-scoring target. Dhanraj Shinde of Dempo CC was named the man of the match.
