Shanon claim Flame of Unity Trophy

Shanon 9, Fatrade beat Customs and Central Excise, Panjim 5-2 via the tie-breaker in the finals of 7th All-Goa Veterans football tournament organised by Flame of Unity Sports Club, Per-Seraulim at Mabai ground, Per-Seraulim on Sunday. The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of full time.
Camilo Baptista put Shanon into the lead while Franky Mascarenhas equalized for Customs and Central Excise.
Shanon 9, Fatrade bagged Rs 10,000 while Customs and Central Excise had to settle for Rs 8,000.
Benaulim MLA, Mickky Pacheco was the chief guest and gave away the prizes. Benaulim Sarpanch Carmelina Fernandes was the guest of honour. Seraulim Sarpanch Leopoldina Fernandes and Suzie Fernandes, ex-sarpanch of Colva were the special invitees.
Lucas Rodrigues and Agnelo Fernandes, secretary and president of the club, respectively spoke. Cinnie M D’Silva proposed the vote of thanks. The function was compered by Arun Kalekar.
