PANJIM: Shantesh Mapshekar and Sneha Mesta finished top in mini cadet boys and girls categories on the first day of the State table tennis championships for Adv Madhav Rao Trophies, organized by Goa Table Tennis Association, in collaboration with Sports Authority of Goa, at indoor stadium, here, on Sunday.
Shantesh bt Nagesh Verenkar in the final 12-10, 12-10, 11-8 while go the better of Parv Rastogi 11-9, 11-7, 11-5 in the semi-final.
Nagesh verenkar bt Anshuman Agarwal 11-8, 11-13, 11-8, 11-6 in the other semi-final match.
In the quarter-final, Nagesh bt Manav Keluskat 11-1, 11-1, 11-2; Anshuman A bt Arav Shinde 11-5, 11-3, 11-5; Parv Rastogi bt Upend Talwadkar 11-6, 11-5, 11-3 and Shantesh Mapshekar bt Sanat Naik 11-6, 11-7, 11-5.
In the mini cadet girls final, Sneha Mesta bt Simran Kubal 11-2, 11-7, 11-5 while she defeated Pearl Colvalkar in the quarter-final and Alia Arora in the semi-final.
Simran bt Rica 11-7, 13-11, 7-11, 11-4 in the other semi-final match.
In the other three quarter-final matches, Alisha Arora bt Trisha Hummnavar 11-9, 5-11, 11-7, 11-9; Riya Sardessai bt Arya Nadkarni 16-14, 13-11, 12-10 and Simran Kubal bt Najida Sheikh 12-10, 11-8, 11-4.
