Shushrut, Himani, Dev, Shalmali win Swimmathon 2018

PANJIM: Shushrut Kapse and Himani Fadke won the 10 KM races in the male and female categories respectively while Dev Ambokar and Shalmali Walujkar took home the winners trophies in the 5 KM race categories for male and female categories respectively at Swimmathon 2018 organised by Square off Sports in association with Goa Tourism and Swimming Federation of India at Colva beach recently.

PANJIM: Shushrut Kapse and Himani Fadke won the 10 KM races in the male and female categories respectively while Dev Ambokar and Shalmali Walujkar took home the winners trophies in the 5 KM race categories for male and female categories respectively at Swimmathon 2018 organised by Square off Sports in association with Goa Tourism and Swimming Federation of India at Colva beach recently.
The winners from both the men and women categories of the 10 KM and 5 KM races will get a chance to represent India at the upcoming FINA World Championships and other international events including Asian Games in 2018. 
In its sixth edition, Swimmathon witnessed an audience of over 700 participants being cheered on with their coaches, friends and family members at the popular Colva Beach in South Goa. 
Manohar Ajgaonkar, Minister of Tourism and Sports was the Chief Guest for the event and gave away the prizes to the winners.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajgaonkar urged the organisers to start training camps in Goa  for Goans as their CSR activity. 
Ajgaonkar further said, “The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt.  of Goa is working hard  for the overall  development  of  Sports  and  is in the process of creating  world class sports infrastructure.”
Swimmathon brand ambassador and 2014 Asian Games Bronze medalist and Arjuna Awardee –  Virdhawal Khade, Indian National Swimming Coach and Dronacharya Award recipient – Pradeep Kumar along with Kamlesh Nanavati, General Secretary, Swimming Federation of India,   Ashish Agarwal – Managing Director, Square Off Sports along with other dignitaries were also present.
