PANJIM: Sinquerim Sports Club beat St Savio Sports Club, Calangute, 2-0 and moved into the semi-finals of Rosary Cup football tournament at Mandrem, Monday. There was no score at half time.
Rajat Naik scored in the 42nd minute to give Sinquerim the lead. Vinayak Rane consolidated the lead in the 57th minute.
Siquerim goalkeeper Aniket Naik was awarded the man-of-the match prize.
In the other quarter-finals, Chapora Yuwak Sangh beat Goa Velha 1-0. Samuel D’Sousa scored the match-winner in the 28th minute.
Goa Velha’s Vikrant Mangueshkar was given the marching orders in the 51st minute. Samuel D’Souza of Chapora was awarded the man-of-the match prize.
