MAPUSA: Sinquerim Sports Club entered the semifinal of the Augustias Inter-village Soccer Cup with a 2-0 victory over Xatrapal Sports Club of Siolim, held at Pomburpa ground, here, on Sunday.
Gopi Gad scored the first goal for Sinquirim with a neat placement. Just before the break Chaitan Dirankar of Sinquirim missed the target from close range.
A free kick taken by Ramnath Dabholkar was well saved by the keeper of Sinquirim and again keeper saved a short by Chandrakant Shirodkar. Sudesh Naik scored in the dying minutes to make issue safe for Sinquirim.
Gopi Gad of Sinquirim received man-of-the-match award from Francisco Fernandes.
