FATORDA: Sinquerim SC defeated Varca SC 3-1 in the GFA Second Division play-off match, played at Artificial turf Fatorda, on Saturday.
Varca SC player Clive Colaco opened the scoring in the 18th minute, however, the Sinquerim side regrouped and soon equalised in the 38th minute through Dyneshwar Pednekar.
Post resumption, Sinquerim SC were a better side and netted two more goals through Shubham Gaunkar in the 64th minute and Vrushabh Kavelkar in the 82nd minute to advance.
In another match played at Sirsaim ground, Dunes SC thrashed Mormugao UCSC 14-1.
Aaron Lobo opened the scoring for Dunes SC in the 2nd minute itself before Sylvester Dias (8th ,22nd ,30th) netted a hat-trick to make it 4-0.
Shashank Ashwekar (31st , 84th , 87th ), Alberto Brito (56th , 59th , 61st), Jason Fernandes (44th), Jeremia Kuyel (45+1), Myren Brito (76th) and Sandesh Sawant (81st) were the other goal scorers for the winners.
Bevan Fernandes (33rd) scored a consolation goal for Mormugao UCSC.
