Siridao, Jawahar qualify; Cross Boys win

Jawahar Club qualified for the play-offs after holding on to defeat Siridao Sports Club 2-1 in GFA’s Third Division at Taleigao ground on Tuesday. Jawahar led 2-0 at the breather.
Although Siridao lost the match, they still managed to qualify in top spot with ten points. Jawahar were second with ten points. St Estevam also finished on ten points but had an inferior goal difference. Batim Youth Club finished on five points, followed by United Club of Mardol with four points and Carabolim Sports Club finished last with three points.
Jawahar took the lead in the fifth minute after Agnelo D’Souza headed in a free kick.
Eight minutes before the interval, Jawahar doubled the lead through Janifar Clemente/
Five minutes from end, Siridao scored a consolation goal through Steven Gracias who beat the off-side trap and punted home past Jawahar keeper Marvil Soares.
In another match at Tilak Maidan, Vasco, Cross Boys defeated Chicalim Youth Club 4-2.
