SM Taleigao in finals merces soccer

Sao Miguel de Taleigao recorded a fluent 2-0 win over United Club of Nerul to march into the final of 15th All-Goa Our Lady of Merces inter- village football tournament organised by Sirlim Sports Club at church ground, Chinchinim on Sunday. The winners led 1-0 at half time.
Sao Miguel de Taleigao started off on a positive note and forged ahead in the 15th of the first half when Cedric Peixoto slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a firm grounder giving no chance to the rival goalkeeper.
Stung by the setback, United Club of Nerul, desperate for a win, went all out but failed to find success.
After the change of ends, Sao Miguel de Taleigao exerted pressure, winning numerous corner kicks and free kicks which put their rivals into discomfort. Sao Miguel de Taleigao worked and their efforts paid off as Cedrick Peixoto bulged the net from close range after he picked up a pass from Francis Coelho.
Sao Miguel de Taleigao will meet CRC, Chinchinim in the final slated on August 15.
