SIRVODEM-NAVELIM: Spring Boys of Mandopa downed Young Boys of Sirvodem 4-2 to lift the Young Boys of Sirvodem trophy in the 1st Navelim inter-ward football tournament, organised by Young Boys of Sirvodem, Navelim, at Rosary ground, Navelim on Saturday.
In the first half, Spring Boys of Mandopa took the lead through Maxton in the fifth minute. Ten minutes later, Mandopa netted the second goal through Travis.
In the second half, Young Boys of Sirvodem came very strongly pulled a goal back through Dawson. Spring boys further inflated the lead through Travis in the 46th minute. Young boys of Sirvodem again did a comeback from Dawson and made it 3-2 in the 48th minute. In the last five minutes Spring Boys scored the winning goal through Preston.
Fr.Americo Rodrigues, Assistant parish priest of Our Lady of Rosary church, Navelim was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Princeton Rebello, Saviour Gama, Liston Colaco and other dignitaries.
